The Linear Reactivity Model (LRM) is a simple nuclear fuel management model that comes with an IBM-compatible diskette containing three programs. Consisting of a collection of algorithms and methods, the LRM describes complex core behavior, but it is simpler than the complex programs developed for design calculations. This makes the LRM particularly useful as a teaching tool to explain the basic principles of nuclear fuel management. The LRM mainly focuses on the pressurized water reactor, but it is also directly applicable to the boiling water reactor. Application of the LRM to the CANDU reactor is also covered.

Great reference text

Very interesting topic-discusses hand and computer methods for fuel management. Rather than focus on theoretical or ideal models, this book discusses how linear reactivity models can be applied to a real reactor with leakage, nonuniform loading and flux, and how to factor those into burnup calculations and reload designs. I can't think of another book out there that covers fuel management with as much depth, which is just as well since this one does a great job.

Unfortunately the disk that comes with the book was a 5 1/2" floppy, so my computer couldn't read-other than that a great product. Would recommend. Book was used, but came in like-new condition.
