Loved it!

Great story! Lots of hot sex, amazing characters and humor mixed in. Matt and Toby already in a relationship, want to add Bryce to complete them. After a night of hot sex, Bryce worries he has crossed a line and put themselves in jeopardy. Shortly after, he breaks up with them, but with a little help from some friends and a work accident, he finds his way back! I really liked it!

Burning up is book three in the Fitting In series and sees the introduction of three new men. Bryce, Toby and Matt all work out of the same firehouse and whilst Toby and Matt are already in a relationship they are clearly sending out signals to Bryce showing their interest in getting together with him.
They are an interesting mix of characters; Bryce is much older than Matt and Toby and isn’t sure whether it is attraction or flattery that he feels at first.
Bryce left his last firehouse when running from memories of a particularly bad fire that saw a mother and her children die. He has closed himself off emotionally not only from looking for a partner but also from friends. He has made friends with Mason who we all know from the first two books as he works with him at a bar part time. He can’t help marvel at the way Mason’s relationship works with his two boyfriends but isn’t convinced it would work out the same way for him.
Matt and Toby have been together for years. They are not out at work and have no plans of changing that anytime soon as that would leave them unable to work the same shifts together.
It’s clear early on that Toby is submissive but Matt is much more difficult to work out. He is much less forward in letting Bryce know his needs but when he feels able he is much more responsive. The more I got to know Matt the more he became my favourite out of the three.
Whilst Matt and Toby are certain they want Bryce to join them they are terrified of coming out at work and the implied changes that brings. Bryce has his own fears and his biggest is damaging the relationship the two other men have. It takes the thought of losing one of the men through an accident at work to make them all see more clearly and finally admit how they truly feel.
I enjoyed learning about this new trio and it was also good to catch up with Mason, Gray and Jack who are also moving on in their relationship.

This story was a great way to write an insta-love story

This is the third book in this series, but the first one I read. It truly was a stand alone, but we got to meet one of the couples from one of the other books (I assume since they were a 3-way male couple).
Bryce is openly gay, when outside of work that is. He doesn't want to be judged at the firehouse so he keeps it to himself. He is attracted to two of the younger guys who are always messing around with each other. Although he is suspicious that there is more than friendship going on between them, he isn't sure and doesn't want to get involved with people he works with anyway.
Matt and Toby make it hard for Bryce to resist and one night after too many beers Bryce opens up and shares a story he's never told anyone and things spin out of control from there. Although Bryce doesn't want to admit it, he's fallen for them.
This story was a great way to write an insta-love story. I normally don't care for them, but this was perfect because they had enough background and situations to make it believable for me even if it was only a month that had passed.
I really enjoyed the drama and torment the characters went through while trying to make the decisions that they felt were right versus what was easy. The naughty scenes were pretty hot too, which is always a good thing.
The only thing I found wrong with the story is that the speech and tone from the characters became almost repetitive and all three men ended up not having any personality or difference in their dialogues.
Other than that, great job. I can't wait to read more from this author.
