What's your wish this valentine's?

THe book is told by 3 perspectives, Jennifer, Eden and Natalie. Three completely different girls with one thing in common: Eden gets dumped by her boyfriend, Natalie's boyfriend keeps ignoring her and Jennifer has no boyfriend.
Theres a contest going on in her school of who will get voted teh most romantic couple on valentine's day.
It's mainly about Jennifer (atleast it starts off with her)
She overhears the most popular girl in school (claudia) telling her friends that she is sure to win the contest. Jennifer already disliking her opens her mouth and lies (a bad habit she has when she is around Claudia)telling Claudia that she is going to have some competition in the contest only problem is she doesnt have a boyfriend.
With teh(meaning her). Help of her best friend Violet she finds a boyfriend, not much like find more like asks Will (known as the Heartbreaker in school)to pretend to be her boyfriend until Valentine's day is over. He agrees.
And the stories develop around Valentines day.

Be Mine is a very sweet book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to fall in love.

Good, but not great

"Be Mine" by Sabrina James is the next installment of the school year at North Ridge High. Like "Secret Santa", there are quite a few characters. The story focuses mainly on Jennifer, but brings the other characters together more than Secret Santa. All Jennifer wants is a boyfriend, and maybe to show up the school's mean girl, Claudia. Jennifer's mouth gets her in a sticky situation when she tells Claudia that she and her boyfriend are going to compete against Claudia and her boyfriend for Most Romantic Couple at the Valentine's Day dance. The only problem is that Jennifer doesn't have a boyfriend, but she won't let that stop her. Along the way, Claudia's two best friends can't figure out why Claudia's being so mean to Jennifer and realize that Claudia really isn't the type of girl they want to be friends with.
Be Mine was a good book, but I thought some of the character transitions were unbelievable. I did like that the characters were tied together more than in Secret Santa, but I would suggest reading Secret Santa over Be Mine.

Jennifer has a bad habit of lying whenever Claudia's around. Not only has she made up a fake boyfriend, but she's agreed to bring him to Claudia's party on Saturday.

Now she has to find a boyfriend in a week and maybe compete for the school's most romantic couple.

She stumbles across the perfect boy: the heartbreaker. Revenge gets even sweeter when he's looking to settle a score with Claudia, as well.

Great Content, Poor Print Quality

While the content of the book is outstanding, the production quality is terrible. The paper quality is poor and the print is faded and not uniform throughout. Apparently this book was printed "just-in-time". I will not buy any more print books from Amazon online. I will have to see it and hold it in my hands before I spend this kind of money for their books again.

Excellent!

This is one of the best book on the market that covers the most important topics of stellar astrophysics (stellar formation, stellar atmospheres, stellar interiors, stellar evolution, etc.) at the advanced undergraduate level. The sections on the Saha equation, the radiative transfer equation, stellar atmospheres and on nucleosynthesis are excellent. The explanations of the physical phenomena are clear and direct which makes this an excellent textbook.

We used this text book for astrophysics class. Chapters are well written and problems are challenging. There are some examples which we found very effective in learning new materials. Those solved problems helped us to score higher in homework and in the test.

Great lessons and great tools for anyone who wants to teach and inspire

As a business person I got a lot out of Paul's Lead With a Story book. But I wasn't sure what I'd get from his book on using stories with children and young people. Wow, did I get a LOT! The stories are incredible and the tools very helpful for me as a parent. I've already told some of the stories to my children and they've not only remembered them, but asked me for more. As a family we're also adding more stories to the ones Paul provided.

Some of these stories have really challenged my ideas of how to teach and inspire my children. As I read them I had to wonder how I might have acted in some of these cases. They not only helped me teach my children, but helped me as a person and a parent. If you're not sure how to be a great parent (who is?), this is a great book to learn from the successes and failures of our fellow parents. The stories will stick with you for a long time.

This is a wonderful book in helping both readers and listeners build character ! The payoff for having good character is that it makes one a better person and it makes the world a better place. Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open. Paul is a truly Inspirational and gifted writer .... In this book, Paul brings to life true stories of real people with teachable moments and lessons on how to react to different situations and with it build character.

Paul Smith offers an excellent tool to help you counsel people of any age! The stories are brief, entertaining, smart and organized well for easy reference. The story matrix in the back of the book makes it a breeze to help you illustrate a point when presented with a teachable moment. Even more useful is Paul's guideline for digging up your own stories from your past that may help instruct others. Especially if you have children, this is a must-have.

Crazy in Every Way, But a Ton of Fun!

Written in the form of blog posts from the afterlife, Doomed tells the tale of everyone’s favorite snarky thirteen-year-old, Madison Spencer, as she is caught between Earth and Hell in a sort of Purgatory. The voice is everything you’ve grown to love about Palahniuk, and Madison is delightfully sarcastic and pretty much pissed off for the length of the novel. But isn’t that how we all love her? Her witty observations about the world around her are what make these books so wonderful, and there’s no lack of wry humor and biting satire in this second installment of the Damned series.

In classic Palahniuk style, the book opens with a bang and had me hooked right away. I’ll spare you the plot details because quite frankly it would be rude of me to spoil the fun. Nothing in this novel is what it seems and the twists and turns come rapid-fire. I planned on reading a few chapters before bed one night and ended up devouring the book in one sitting. It’s full of action and packed with deftly created characters that both intrigued me and rubbed me the wrong way. Everyone is flawed, but everyone is interesting. Nobody comes out on the other side unscathed.

So, sit down, buckle up, and get ready for a wild ride. The book is crazy in every way, but it’s a ton of fun.

Strange left turn from the voice of the first novel

After the wondrously delicious and decadent visions of hell and the tongue-in-cheek precocious cynicism of Madison in Damned, Doomed feels more like a whiny teen angst novel. All it needs is some post-apocalyptic setting or lovelorn vampires and it could be almost any other self-published YA novel on amazon. The cliff-hanger ending lent a strange tone of incompletion; it didn't really feel like a full novel so much as a rambling chapter in an ongoing series. It was almost as if he had a full two-book story in mind and just threw this bit in as a bridge so he could have a trilogy.

There were some inconsistencies in the personal history of the heroine, as if he'd adjusted a few facts to fit in better with her newfound neediness and fear of abandonment. In addition the voice of the novel was an abrupt change from the first, and the style and tone were a bit more reminiscent of the relaxed, smart-yet-silly novels of Christopher Moore than the razor-sharp alternative realities we usually get from Palahniuk.

I hope I'm right in my guess that this was a "filler" book in order to flesh out a trilogy, and that the third (and hopefully final) installment brings us back to the sharp focus and clever, hip, and scathingly observant social narrative we expect from Chuck Palahniuk.

I can't give it less than three stars because it is still a CP novel, and I'd rather read the worst Palahniuk novel than a dozen novels about lust-filled werewolves or angsty teens fretting about romance in the midst of gearing up to overthrow a corrupt future government.

Entertaining but difficult to connect as a sequel

To be fair, I read Damned about a year and a half ago, so all of the details were a little foggy. I love the way Palahniuk writes these books.. his Judy Blume inspiration is really entertaining. It's so over the top that it really makes for a good read.

[Potential spoiler alert] However, I felt like a lot of the events that you learn about Madison's past in this book don't really connect to her character in the first book. For example, her Grandmother and Mother speaking to the telemarketer and her Grandfather telling her that they receive calls from a 'Guardian Angel' and that she will have to fight a battle between good and evil... you don't get the sense that she knew this in the first book even though she should. So it's a little hard to connect her character between the two books in that respect. But again... I read the books so far apart that maybe it's just my memory mistaking me.

Good book for the right reader

This book is easy to read and covers a wide range of project management topics, while still being only 200 pages long. On the back of the book it states that the book is "designed to meet the needs of the business manager or student" - and I would agree with that. This is a book for some-one who needs to know more about how project management is handled in medium to large organizations, but who isn't expecting to manage projects themselves.

I bought this text book because I was trying to solve the biharmonic equation for the bending of thin plates or slabs using the separation of variables technique. What I found in Section 8.11.13 on page 339 is exactly what I was looking for. I liked Partial Diffential Equations in Mechanics 2 so well that I also ordered Partial Differential Equations in Mechanics 1 as well. I like it equally well. I have not examined other sections as thoroughly as Section 8.11 in PDE Mechanics 2. But I can tell you that this is an excellent reference to have if you plan on solving PDEs.
